Jonathan Weydig was arrested with the assistance of Point Pleasant police, according to Brick police.

Weydig had six outstanding warrants and was charged with eluding officers, obstruction and hindering apprehension, police said.

Weydig also was issued 12 motor vehicle summonses, they said.

On May 12, Brick Street Crimes Unit detectives were traveling in an unmarked vehicle at Route 88 and Post Road when they observed a road rage incident, police said.

Detectives saw a vehicle stopped in the roadway obstructing traffic and creating a danger to other motorists — engaged in a verbal argument with another motorist, police said.

During the incident, the suspect, Weydig, began to exit his vehicle in the roadway as detectives attempted to pull him over, they said.

Weydig entered his vehicle and fled the scene, they said.

Officers observed multiple motor vehicle violations as he attempted to elude officers, they said.

Several hours later, officers were able to locate Weydig, who was arrested.

Weydig was taken to Ocean County Jail.
